Originating in Chicago during the early 2010s, drill music has become an increasingly popular genre internationally among both millennial and Gen Z rappers, ultimately blending trap with gangsta rap. From the late Pop Smoke and Fredo Santana (rest in peace) to hip-hop royalty Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Durk, many of the industry's hottest rappers have incorporated drill into their records throughout the past decade. Fivio Foreign, Chief Keef, G Herbo, Polo G, and newcomer Ice Spice all remain forces to be reckoned with across the drill rap scene, and they don't plan on slowing down anytime soon.
