List Rules Vote up the best early 2000s videos that remind you MTV used to play music.

Ah, the early 2000s... a much simpler time. A time before we became completely immersed in the day-to-day lives of musicians via social media. A time where all we had to look forward to was the moment our favorite musical artist released a new video. A time when MTV actually played music.

Music videos were certainly a staple of the era. Chances are, if you watched MTV regularly or even if you avoided it at all costs, these videos from 2000-20606 somehow managed to make their way into your psyche. The best music videos made you think, dance, or maybe just stare in wonder at Britney Spears's body. Whatever the case, these are the music videos from the early 2000s that you'll love to watch again.

Eminem's "Stan" (2000) is undeniably one of the most memorable video of the early 2000s, and rightfully so. The video tells a complete (and extremely dark) story about an obsessed fan (Stan) who takes every one of Eminem's moves to heart and writes cryptic letters demanding the same recognition from the hip-hop superstar that he gives to him. The video reaches it's climax when Eminem finally gets around to responding to the the series of increasingly dark letters and then realizes that Stan is the man responsible for a murder that he heard about on the news earlier that week.

Second only to the video for her mega-hit "Hit Me Baby One More Time," "Toxic" (2003) showed that Britney Spears was at the height of her seduction. In the video, she posed as a secret agent stewardess out for revenge. The whole thing was intercut with shots of the singer wearing nothing but that infamous diamond body suit. Spoiler alert: Spears gets her revenge in the end

2005's "Feel Good Inc" proved that you should never underestimate the value of animation. With simple animation, the Gorillaz created a thought-provoking look into the dumbing down of our culture.

'N Sync - Bye Bye Bye

The unforgettable marionette video for 'N Sync's smash-hit "Bye Bye Bye" (2000) was a tongue-in-cheek twist on the album title from which the song was derived: No Strings Attached. Very clever, 'N Sync.
