Best figure skating pairs currently active in the sport

List of the best figure skating pairs in the world. These amazing figure skating pairs are active in the sport, with many of them having competed in the Winter Olympic Games in 2014 (Sochi). Some haven’t made it to the Olympic level yet, but will certainly do so in the future. No matter their records so far, though, the skaters on this list are recognized by fans as the best figure skating pairs currently competing.

Russia and America are certainly known for their incredible figure skaters; in the 2014 Olympics, Russia was on top as pair skaters Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov took gold in the pair skating event, and Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov took silver. The bronze medal winners, Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy, represented Germany. This pair showed that although Russia and America are powerhouses when it comes to producing pair skaters, they are far from the only countries to do so.

Why are so many countries producing such great pair skaters? Perhaps it’s due to the popularity of the sport. Singles’ figure skating is beautiful, but when a couple comes together in harmony on the ice, the effect can be truly magical. Amazing pair skaters can be awe-inspiring, and the couples on this list are definitely no exception.

This list contains all of the best figure skating pairs in the sport today, those skaters who are working hard to give the next generation of skaters something to aim for. They all have different medal counts, true, but thanks to their work on the ice, they all deserve a place on this list of the best figure skating pairs in the world.
