The Best Foreign Movies Streaming on Hulu

Although American cinema can be visually and intellectually stimulating, it certainly has it's drawbacks. We are, after all, the country responsible for shooting and filming Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. These foreign films, however, will transport you away from trashy, American cinema, and allow you to look at life from the perspective of someone from another country. 
 

Frederico Fellini, Ingmar Bergman, Roberto Rosselini, and Pedro Almodóvar are some of the greatest foreign film directors in the entire world. On this list of the best foreign movies streaming on Hulu, you'll find two of Fellini's best features: 8 ½ and Juliet of the Spirits. These films, like all of Fellini's movies, are actually about Fellini himself. Also on this list is Bergman’s masterpiece Persona, starring Liv Ullman and Bibi Andersson. Two Rossellini films also made the cut: Open City, and Stromboli, which starred his wife, Ingrid Bergman. Almadovar’s controversial Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! was so racy and explicit that it actually helped spurn the MPAA rating NC-17 form films involving gratuitous nudity.
