Legend has it that C.E. Doolin, the creator of Frito's Original Corn Chips, had an obsession with finding a masa-based snack that wouldn't go stale too quickly. He finally found a man down in San Antonio,TX who was willing to sell his recipe, and Frito's were born.
Those simple, Original Corn Chips sprouted many varieties and flavors, including Chili Cheese, Flamin' Hot, and Lime. Daring new tastes, like Honey Barbecue and Tomato Sauce were presented soon after, adding even more deliciousness to the Frito's corn chip family.
