The Best Grammy-Nominated Comedy Albums of the 1980s

891 votes 100 voters

Comedy in the 1980s just might belong to "Weird Al" Yankovic. The parody master was nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Comedy Album during that decade, for his releases Even WorsePolka Party!, and Dare to Be Stupid. But he's just one of the talented nominees featured on this list of 1980s best comedy albums. Some of the funny people who released Grammy-nominated 1980s albums were fixtures on the standup scene, while others recorded audio versions of their hilarious best-selling books. A few of these best 1980s album nominees were even taped at live comedy shows.

What albums are considered the best comedy albums of the 1980s? Movie fans know Robin Williams as the versatile star of such films as Good Will Hunting and Mrs. Doubtfire, but he is also a Grammy-winning recording artist. Cheech & Chong's Born in East L.A. is another one of the best Grammy-Nominated comedy albums of the decade. Other good releases featured on this list include Steven Wright's I Have a Pony and Rodney Dangerfield's Twist and Shout.

Which 1980s Grammy-nominated comedy album do you think is the best? Give your favorites a thumbs up to move them to the top of the list.
