It's fitting that the first-ever Grammy Award for Best Rock Album was presented to The Rolling Stones. That was in 1995, and the rest of that decade saw a number of notable rock releases from Grammy nominees and winners. The styles of music may vary from record to record, but the best rock albums of the 1990s all stay true to the rebellious rock 'n' roll spirit embodied by the award's iconic first recipients.

What LPs will you find on this 1990s rock albums list? Now-legendary band Pearl Jam released a pair of Grammy-nominated rock albums in the '90s, Vs. and Vitalogy. The grunge rockers' frequent collaborator Neil Young also received several nominations for Best Rock Album throughout the decade.

In 1999, three out of the five nominees for Best Rock Album were female-fronted acts: Hole, Garbage and Sheryl Crow. The latter took home the trophy for The Globe Sessions. Other great releases on this list of best 1990s album nominees include Nine Lives by Aerosmith and No Doubt's 1997 hit Tragic Kingdom.

Which of these 1990s Grammy-nominated albums do you think deserves the top spot on this list? Let your voice be heard by voting your favorite up to number one.
