His Dark Materials is a fantasy series based on the novel series of the same name by Philip Pullman. Produced for BBC One and HBO, His Dark Materials premiered on HBO on November 3, 2019, a day after it premiered on BBC One. Before the first episode aired the series had been renewed for a second season of eight episodes and began filming, to retain the age continuity of the young actors.
