There's something captivating about non-fiction TV that allows even seemingly boring subjects, like real estate, to pull you in and hold your attention episode after episode. While most of us aren't in the market for a house and couldn't care less if our friends were telling us all about their home buying experiences, whenever house hunting shows come on TV there's few of us who can resist the temptation to tune in. The best real estate shows are a mix of quirky couples with a heartwarming story, handsome hosts who hold hammers, and wish-fulfillment that involves seeing gorgeous houses you'll never live in. Simply put, house hunting can be satisfying (if you're not the one doing it) and the best series about buying or selling a home are just plain old entertaining TV. Even if you never plan on buying property, you definitely end up with opinions on real estate when watching House Hunters and Flip This House.

Whether you're flipping through HGTV on a day off, burning hours at a time on Netflix, or actively seeking out and sharing clips of your favorite house hunting shows online, there's no denying that the top house hunting shows can glue us to the couch in the living room and keep us there.
