The Best Lead Actress categories at the 2016 Emmy Awards are almost impossible to predict. It’s not a clear-cut choice who should win at the Emmys, particularly when all the Outstanding Actress Emmy nominees are all awards-worthy.
When it comes to the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series 2016, just who should take home the golden lady holding the atom? Kerry Washington as Anita Hill in Confirmation? Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark in The People v. O.J. Simpson? How about Lili Taylor on American Crime? Kirsten Dunst as Peggy Blumquist probably visualized her Emmy. But Felicity Huffman on American Crime and Audra McDonald from Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill are not to be denied.
The race for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series is on. You got Keri Russell from The Americans. The mighty Viola Davis as Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder and Claire Danes tearing it up once again on Homeland. No one gets past Taraji P. Henson in Empire. As Claire Underwood, Robin Wright steals House of Cards wholesale, while Tatiana Maslany played seemingly everybody on Orphan Black for yet another powerful season. Maybe it’s finally her time.
That's not even mentioning the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy category. It's un-fudging-believable, as Kimmy Schmidt might say. Vote up the actresses you think most deserve to win.
