List Rules Vote up the most entertaining films & shows (including streaming series) featuring LGBTQ+ characters and themes.

One of the least-represented groups in the population to be seen in film and television have been the LGBTQ+ community. For years, these people have been depicted as cliched stereotypes that have been both offensive and wildly inaccurate. Fortunately, the community has seen better representation in recent years and the stories about LGBTQ+ people are on the forefront of the entertainment industry. In both film and television, gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender, and questioning people have taken the center stage as writers and actors present endearing and interesting stories about the community. Now, we all have a range of LGBTQ+ TV shows and movies spanning a variety of genres.

Not all representations of LGBTQ+ people have been negative, which has led to the creation of some amazing movies and television shows over the years. LGBTQ+ films like Moonlight tell a coming-of-age story about the difficulties African Americans face when embracing their sexuality and identity at a young age. Over on television, more comedies like the popular series Will & Grace depict homosexuals in a positive, yet hilarious light. Whatever your interest in the genre, there are plenty of options to choose from and this list compiles the very best in TV shows and movies related to LGBTQ+ culture.

Which LGBTQ+ movies and shows deserve the top spots on this list? Help decide by giving your favorites a thumbs up and adding any good movies or shows missing from the list.
