His big-screen debut was in the 1988 movie Mystic Pizza, where the then 18-year-old Damon charismatically delivered his first line in Hollywood history. After a string of uncredited cameos, he had his breakout role in 1996's Courage Under Fire. Playing a drug-addicted solder, he lost 40 pounds for the film.
