The Best Golf Games To Help You Hit The Virtual Green

September 15, 2020 68 votes 18 voters12 items

While the PC used to be the de facto way to hit the virtual green, there have been a surprising number of great console releases in recent years. From the standard classics like PGA Tour to epic RPG-style games like What the Golf?, there's really no shortage of ace games. Whether you're looking for a few good golf video games to up your putting game or just want to sit back and slap a few balls around with your friends (or complete strangers), this list ranks some of the best golf games on the PS4, Xbox, PC, Switch and even mobile.

PGA Tour 2K21's graphics are so sublime that you'll feel like you're really out there on the green with the wind blowing in your face (even if it's just the fan), while multiplayer party games like Infinite Minigolf are obviously designed to be a bit more lighthearted. These types of games play with physics and various other mechanics, and if you're not paying attention, you could end up making a huge mess on the green. But that's all right—sometimes that's just part of the game.

Check out all these must-play games to help you become the best virtual golfer ever...on the computer.

The perfect golf game for people who don't play golf, What the Golf? is a blast. For starters, every course has a surprising, absurd twist. Each level has surprisingly fun physics challenges that are unlike any other golf game you've played in the past. Plus, you can challenge a friend in the local party mode to see which one of you can stay on your feet!

While it was released for PC and mobile first, the Switch port is often considered the best version out there. If you're looking for some silly fun on the golf course, you need What the Golf?

Dangerous Golf is for anyone whose parents told them not to play in the house. There are roughly 100 different miniature golf holes to play through, each one containing various destructible objects. You'll play through a palace, gas station, kitchen, china shop, and so much more as you try to get the ball in the hole as you try to avoid crashing various objects.

Or maybe you actively want to destroy as much as possible. You can turn your ball into a miniature bomb to wreak even more havoc.
