Both Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Katy Keene offered some laughs with their lyrics – though Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is really a dramedy, balancing the fun and songs with emotional moments. But 2020 was the future and musical TV shows were’t limited to frivolity or romantic comedy. In addition to being a musical, the Hulu series Utopia Falls was a science fiction teen drama set in a dystopian near future.
