The best Narnia books are those beloved favorites among the classic fantasy series from C. S. Lewis. Written between 1950 and 1954, the series tells the tale of children who are whisked away to the magical realm of Narnia where they must protect the land from evil. And while the novels were written in one order, starting with “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” many would argue that they should be read in a different order starting with “The Magician’s Nephew,” published second to last in the series, and finishing with “The Last Battle,” the final book published.

However they are read, the Chronicles of Narnia series is a cherished one for school children and entertainment studios alike. The series has prompted numerous adaptations dating back to the 1960s and spanning most recently to the 2000s when feature films based on the books grossed hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide.
