The Best NASCAR Drivers Of 2022

List Rules
Vote up the best NASCAR drivers this year.

Who are the best NASCAR drivers in 2022? All of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series drivers and fastest cars on this list. Who can say while a driver still races whether they still have 'it' or if there's not enough tread left on the tires? And harder still to compare a driver's merits in comparison to other drivers who race poorly engineered cars, have less experience, or are just going through a slump. Who is the best NASCAR driver of 2022? Which NASCAR Cup Series driver do you love to watch in 2022?

When it comes to the best active NASCAR drivers today, Joe Gibbs Racing's Kyle Busch is one of the most iconic and celebrated racers to ever get behind the wheel, as a three-time NASCAR champion. Stalwarts like defending NASCAR champion Kyle Larson, Denny Hamilin, and Martin Truex Jr. will all have something to say in the NASCAR Cup Series this year. As will young NASCAR stars Bubba Wallace, Chase Briscoe, and Ryan Blaney, who look to claim glory as they climb the NASCAR rankings.

Elliott couldn't defend his championship in 2021, but he continued to round into form as one of NASCAR's unquestioned elite racers at the ripe age of 26. Hendrick Motorsports has a two-headed beast at the top of its stable and Elliott should easily be "the guy" again this year.

    Kyle Larson

In 2021, Larson raced a season for the ages, showing off his long-rumored unbelievable talent for once after all those years. At the present moment, it seems as if Larson could be gearing up to become one of NASCAR's all-time greats over the next decade-plus. Back-to-back championships feels entirely in the realm of possibility for Larson in 2022.

  • Ryan Blaney

Blaney won three times and finished 7th in the 2021 standings. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him improve upon that in his first year with new crew chief Jonathan Hassler, who replaced the retiring Todd Gordon. Blaney got off to sharp start in 2022 with a fourth-place finish at Daytona.

    • Birthplace: Hartford Township, Ohio
    • Team: Team Penske
  • Daniel Suárez

After an extremely frustrating 2020, Suárez took a step in the right direction in 2021. The fifth-year driver picked up four top 10s after being shut out in 2020. With the improvements Trackhouse made in 2022, he could be a dark horse to pick up wins throughout the Cup Series.

    • Birthplace: Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico
    • Team: Trackhouse Racing Team
  • Martin Truex, Jr.

Last year, Truex had a worse average finish and fewer top 10s or top 5s than he scored in 2020. BUT he also had three more wins (four total) and finished runner-up in the standings for an overall solid 2021. Consistent excellence is the motto at Joe Gibbs Racing. Truex should vie for his second Cup in 2022.

  • Joey Logano

The 2018 champion took a statistical dip in 2021, despite making the Round of 8. Logano fans shouldn't be concerned however, as he enteres his age 32 season and it's possible somehow, the 13-year veterans best days lie ahead.
