I'll See You in My Dreams is a thoughtful, endearing movie about beginning life anew (regardless of your age). Blythe Danner plays Carol, a former songstress who fears her best years are behind her once she becomes a widow. But with the help of her friends, she decides to take life head on and have some new adventures. She meets a new potential suitor (Sam Elliot), strikes up a friendship with her pool maintenance man (Martin Starr), and begins singing at karaoke nights.

Most importantly, she learns that life can be embraced joyously at any stage, retired or not.

In 2002, aspiring writer Julie Powell escapes her hatred of her deadend job by deciding to create all 524 recipes from the book in just one year. She documents all her experiences in a blog, which begins to gain momentum after (several) failed attempts.
