Updated August 20, 2018 1.3k votes 240 voters 2.8k views20 items

Over more than a half century in the MLB, the New York Mets have had some great (and not so great) managers, but who is the best New York Mets manager ever to sit in the dugout? This list ranks every New York Mets manager in the team's history from best to worst, based on the votes of baseball fans just like you. Vote up your top New York Mets coaches and remember that you can downvote any manager you think held the team back, too.

Gil Hodges was the first manager to lead the Mets to a World Series title. Hodges won it all in 1969. The only other Mets manager to win a World Series was Davey Johnson in 1986. Johnson is also the longest-running manager in franchise history.

Who is the greatest New York Mets skipper of all time? Are they on the list of the best Major League Baseball managers ever? Vote up the most winning New York Mets managers, or vote up the ones you think are the best based on anything from stats to personal preference.
