Lester Patrick was the first head coach for the Rangers and got the franchise off to a winning start. After the Rangers joined the league in 1926, Patrick lead the Rangers to Stanley Cup championships in 1928 and 1933. In Mike Keenan's only year as head coach from 1993-1994, he lead the Rangers to their first Stanley Cup Championship since 1940.
