List RulesBest NFL players drafted 100th overall or later
The best NFL buys for the money are those top professional football players selected late in the NFL Draft. These are all NFL players who were selected at least 100 picks into the NFL draft but went on to set numerous records, win multiple Super Bowl titles and earn enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
As arguably one of the best quarterbacks of all time, it's hard to doubt that Tom Brady is not one of the best late-round draft picks of all time. After an unremarkable college football career with the Michigan Wolverines, Tom Brady was selected 199th overall in the sixth round of the NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. Six other quarterbacks were selected earlier in the 2000 draft but none did nearly as well in their careers as Brady. The future hall of famer has three Super Bowl championships, two NFL Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl MVP awards and eight Pro Bowl selections on his resume, among many other accolades.
While Brady is a logical choice as a best NFL buy for the money of present, there are many, many more from yesteryear. Football legends like Roger Staubach, Bart Starr, Shannon Sharpe, Jonhhy Unitas and George Blanda all were selected at least 100 picks into the NFL Draft. Few were expected to be the stars of their team, let alone icons in NFL history, but all didn't let their late draft position hinder them in any way.
All of the best NFL team owners hope that they'll draft one dark horse, someone who can play well beyond their draft position, and these players did just that. Which is the ultimate best late-round NFL Draft pick? Have your say by voting, adding to or re-ranking this list of the best NFL buys for the money!1
