Who are the best cornerbacks of 2022? From breaking up passes to tackling receivers, the best NFL cornerbacks play an important role on the field. They've got to be quick, powerful, and fearsome. They must disrupt passing lanes, stick with speedy receivers, and win jump balls in the air. The 2022 best NFL cornerbacks are some of the best defenders in football. Who is the best cornerback of 2022? Which of the best NFL corners 2022 do you love?

When it comes to the best current cornerbacks, few hold down the CB position better than players like Jalen Ramsey, Xavier Rhodes, and Casey Hayward. However, you've also got to consider long time vets like Patrick Peterson, not to mention Darius Slay, Kyle Fuller, and Marshon Lattimore, who are among the best NFL cornerbacks right now. • Jalen Ramsey

It's hard to pretend Jalen Ramsey isn't the best cornerback in the NFL when he's wearing the Super Bowl champion crown presently. Ramsey is remarkably consistent and seems to get better each year. After an offseason of healing, Ramsey and his Rams look poised to defend their title.

  • Patrick Surtain II

One year into his NFL career, Surtain is only scratching the surface. He is an advanced technician who looked well beyond his years as a rookie. The 2021 top-10 pick allowed over 60 yards just once last season and led the draft class in combined interceptions and pass breakups (12). The 6-foot-2, 202-pounder had a few poor games early on, but he soon righted those wrongs. From Week 7 on, Surtain was one of the 25 highest-graded cornerbacks in the NFL. Surtain could take an A.J. Terrell-esque leap to elite status in 2022.

    Darius Slay

“Big Play Slay” is coming off a great season. He played far less at the line of scrimmage and worked in off-zone more than in any other year of his career, and it paid dividends. Slay was rarely caught out of position and didn’t let anything up for most of the season. In outside coverage, he ranked just outside the top ten in both yards allowed per snap and percentage of targets to result in a first down or touchdown. Philly's defense struggled last season, but the addition of James Bradberry to the team's secondary should do wonders for their back line of defense.

  • Jaire Alexander

Jaire Alexander remains one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL going into 2022. An injury-shortened season (shoulder) didn't give him enough opportunities in 2021, but just by virtue of getting back on the field, Alexander can be expected to be a #1 defensive playmaker on Green Bay's backend.

  • Trevon Diggs

In a passing league, Trevon Diggs' 11 interceptions and two TDs made him one of the Cowboys best offensive weapons in 2021. Diggs is the prototype WR turned CB. He can diagnose routes, close gaps, and ball win in the air better than most. With 14 picks in 27 career starts, even Jalen Ramsey has praised him as ‘one of the league’s best.'

  • Tre'Davious White

Not many people truly understand White's skill level and his overall value to both the Bills and the league. A two-time Pro Bowler who also once co-led the league in interceptions, White hopes to bounce back in 2022 after tearing his ACL in Week 10 last year. Had the Bills kept White on the field to help battle Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round, things might've been different for the Bills.
