A list of the best Orlando Magic of all time. Formed in 1989, the Orlando Magic's time as a franchise as been as topsy-turvy as a theme park rollercoaster. The Magic have seen some magical years and some bad ones as well. Whenever things looked bleak for Orlando, a superstar player would magically appear on its roster.The franchise may be known mostly for big name stars bolting the city for larger markets, the best Magic players are some of the <a href="http://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/the-top-nba-players-of-all-time">greatest in NBA history</a>. Shaquille O'Neal was the first superstar to play for the Magic. During his time in Orlando, Shaq was the best young player in the league. Between he and Anfernee &quot;Penny&quot; Hardaway, the Magic had two of the brightest stars in the league.&nbsp;After Shaq bolted for Los Angeles and Hardaway had major knee surgery that made a shell of his former self, the Magic looked to find two new superstars to replace them. In came Tracy McGrady and Grant Hill. While Hill was hampered by injuries, McGrady developed into one of the greatest Magic players of all time. When McGrady left, Dwight Howard arrived to take over. As the best center in the NBA, Howard took the Magic to the NBA Finals in 2009. But like Shaq, Howard skipped town when he was traded to Los Angeles in 2012.&nbsp;Orlando has had some of the <a href="http://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/top-10-current-nba-players">best current players in the NBA</a> on its team since it came into the league, a number that would make other teams jealous. It's hard landing one superstar, nevertheless a number of the greatest players in basketball history, but the Magic have done exactly that.This is a list of the best Orlando Magic of all time. Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille Rashaun "Shaq" O'Neal ( shə-KEEL;  SHAK; born March 6, 1972) is a retired professional American basketball player who is a sports analyst on the television program Inside the NBA on TNT. He is considered one of the greatest players in National Basketball Association (NBA) history. At 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) tall and 325 pounds (147 kg), he was one of the tallest and heaviest players ever. O'Neal played for six teams over his 19-year career.
Following his time at Louisiana State University, O'Neal was drafted by the Orlando Magic with the first overall pick in the 1992 NBA draft. He quickly became one of the best centers in the league, winning Rookie of the Year in 1992–93 and leading his team to the 1995 NBA Finals. After four years with the Magic, O'Neal signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers. They won three consecutive championships in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Amid tension between O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, O'Neal was traded to the Miami Heat in 2004, and his fourth NBA championship followed in 2006. Midway through the 2007–2008 season he was traded to the Phoenix Suns. After a season-and-a-half with the Suns, O'Neal was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2009–10 season. O'Neal played for the Boston Celtics in the 2010–11 season before retiring.O'Neal's individual accolades include the 1999–2000 MVP award, the 1992–93 NBA Rookie of the Year award, 15 All-Star game selections, three All-Star Game MVP awards, three Finals MVP awards, two scoring titles, 14 All-NBA team selections, and three NBA All-Defensive Team selections. He is one of only three players to win NBA MVP, All-Star game MVP and Finals MVP awards in the same year (2000); the other players are Willis Reed in 1970 and Michael Jordan in 1996 and 1998. He ranks 8th all-time in points scored, 6th in field goals, 15th in rebounds, and 8th in blocks. Largely due to his ability to dunk the basketball, O'Neal also ranks third all-time in field goal percentage (58.2%). O'Neal was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. He was elected to the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2017.In addition to his basketball career, O'Neal has released four rap albums, with his first, Shaq Diesel, going platinum. O'Neal is also an electronic music producer, and touring DJ,  known as DIESEL. He has appeared in numerous films and has starred in his own reality shows, Shaq's Big Challenge and Shaq Vs.. He hosts The Big Podcast with Shaq. He is also the general manager of Kings Guard Gaming of the NBA 2K League.

Dwight Howard

Dwight David Howard (born December 8, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is an eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA Team honoree, five-time All-Defensive Team member, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
Howard, who plays center, spent his high school career at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. He chose to forgo college, entered the 2004 NBA draft, and was selected first overall by the Orlando Magic. Howard set numerous franchise and league records during his time with the Magic. In 2009, he led the team to the NBA Finals.
In 2012, after eight seasons with Orlando, Howard was traded to the Lakers. Following a one-year stint with the Lakers, he played for the Houston Rockets, the Atlanta Hawks, the Charlotte Hornets, and the Washington Wizards.

Nikola Vučević

Nikola Vučević (born 24 October 1990) is a Montenegrin professional basketball player who currently plays for Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association. He played college basketball for the University of Southern California before being drafted 16th overall in the 2011 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He received his first All-Star selection in 2019. Vucevic entered the offseason as an unrestricted free agent. On June 30, 2019, he signed a four-year, $100 million contract to remain with the Magic.

Horace Grant

Horace Junior Grant (born July 4, 1965) is an American retired basketball player. He attended and played college basketball at Clemson University before playing professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he became a four-time champion with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.  Horace is the twin brother of former NBA player Harvey Grant.

Marcin Gortat

Marcin Gortat (Polish pronunciation: ['mar.t͡ɕiŋ 'ɡɔr.tat]; born February 17, 1984) is a Polish professional basketball player who last played for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 6 ft 11 in, 240-pound center is the son of boxer Janusz Gortat. He was a second-round draft choice of the Phoenix Suns in the 2005 NBA draft and has also played for the Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Clippers.

Rony Seikaly

Ronald Fred Seikaly (Arabic: رونالد فريد ﺼيقلي‎, born May 10, 1965) is a Lebanese-born American retired professional basketball player. Seikaly was one of the first internationally-born players to make an impact on American basketball. Considered one of the top college players from the Syracuse basketball program, Seikaly's stellar offense and defense placed him among the school's all-time leaders in rebounds, points and blocks, while earning several nationally recognized awards and honors. His number 4 jersey was retired by Syracuse and raised to the rafters of the Carrier Dome.
Drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) by the Miami Heat with the 9th pick of the 1988 draft and the first ever pick for the Heat, Seikaly ranked among the team's top offensive and defensive contributors–winning NBA player of the week twice–and also amassing many of the team's records (of which some are still standing). Seikaly earned the 1990 NBA Most Improved Player Award and later played for the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets and in Spain with FC Barcelona. He was also part of the United States national basketball team during the 1986 FIBA World Championship, winning gold. After his retirement from basketball, Seikaly became a successful real estate developer. He also worked  in electronic music as a producer/DJ and hosts a radio, show "Sugar Free Radio", on Sirius/XM.

Kyle O'Quinn

Kyle Brandon O'Quinn (born March 26, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association . He played for the Norfolk State Spartans, and led them to a victory over the #2 seed Missouri Tigers in the second round of the 2012 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. He was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NBA draft with the 49th overall pick, by the Orlando Magic.

Ben Wallace

Benjamin Cameron Wallace (born September 10, 1974) is an American retired professional basketball player. A native of Alabama, Wallace attended Cuyahoga Community College and Virginia Union University and signed with the Washington Bullets (later Wizards) as an undrafted free agent in 1996. In his NBA career, Wallace played with the Washington Bullets/Wizards, Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers.
He won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times, a record he shares with Dikembe Mutombo. In nine seasons with the Pistons (2000–2006; 2009–2012), Wallace made two NBA Finals appearances (2004 and 2005) and won a championship with the Pistons in 2004. The Pistons retired his jersey number 3 in 2016. He was named a finalist for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019, but narrowly missed induction.

Patrick Ewing

Patrick Aloysius Ewing (born August 5, 1962) is a Jamaican-American retired Hall of Fame basketball player and current head coach of the Georgetown University men's basketball team. He played most of his career as the starting center of the NBA's New York Knicks and also played briefly with the Seattle SuperSonics and Orlando Magic.
Ewing played center for Georgetown for four years—where he played in the NCAA Championship Game three times—and was named as the 16th greatest college player of all time by ESPN. He had an eighteen-year NBA career, predominantly playing for the New York Knicks, where he was an eleven-time all-star and named to seven All-NBA teams. The Knicks appeared in the NBA Finals twice (1994 & 1999) during his tenure. He won Olympic gold medals as a member of the 1984 and 1992 United States men's Olympic basketball teams. In a 1996 poll celebrating the 50th anniversary of the NBA, Ewing was selected as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. He is a two-time inductee into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts (in 2008 for his individual career, and in 2010 as a member of the 1992 Olympic team). Additionally he was inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame as a member of the "Dream Team" in 2009.  His number 33 was retired by the Knicks in 2003.

Shawn Travis Kemp (born November 26, 1969) is an American retired professional basketball player, who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 14 seasons. He was a six-time NBA All-Star and a three-time All-NBA Second Team member.

Bo Outlaw

Charles "Bo" Outlaw (born April 13, 1971) is an American professional retired basketball player. Outlaw was known for his athleticism, tenacious defensive approach and sub-par free-throw shooting (.521 for his career).

Khem Birch

Khem Xavier Birch is a Canadian professional basketball player who currently plays for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. He played college basketball at Pittsburgh and UNLV before going undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft.

Drew Gooden

Andrew Melvin Gooden III (born September 24, 1981) is an American former professional basketball player who is a sports broadcaster for NBC Sports Washington. The power forward played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Gooden played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks, where he was a consensus first-team All-American in 2002. He earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors with the Memphis Grizzlies after they selected him in the first round of the 2002 NBA draft with the fourth overall pick.

Sidney Green

Sidney Green (born January 4, 1961) is an American retired basketball player and former coach. He played college basketball for the UNLV Runnin' Rebels and was drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) by the Chicago Bulls in 1983. After a ten-year career in the NBA he went into college coaching. He now works as a Chicago Bulls team ambassador.

Dewayne Dedmon

Dewayne Jamal Dedmon (born August 12, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Antelope Valley College and USC. On February 11, 2018, Dedmon matched his career high with 20 points and had 13 rebounds in a 118–115 win over the Detroit Pistons. On July 8, 2019, the Sacramento Kings signed Dedmon to a three-year, $40 million contract.

Michael Doleac

Michael Scott Doleac (born June 15, 1977) is an American former professional basketball player.
Doleac was selected 12th overall in the 1998 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic. He graduated from Central Catholic High School at Portland, Oregon and in 1998 the University of Utah after being their premiere big man in a season in which they made it to the 1998 NCAA National Championship game, in which they lost to the University of Kentucky in Doleac's hometown of San Antonio, Texas. After four years at Utah, he was among the school's all-time top ten in 3 categories: 10th in scoring (1,519 points), 8th in rebounds (886) and 4th in free throws made (472).
In 2001, Doleac was traded from the Magic to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Brendan Haywood.
Doleac later played for the New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, and Miami Heat, where he won a championship coming off the bench to back up Shaquille O'Neal.
In 1999, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
Doleac retired after a ten-year NBA career after the 2007–2008 NBA season. He retired as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who acquired him, along with Antoine Walker and Wayne Simien, in a deal that brought Mark Blount and Ricky Davis to the Heat.
After retirement, Doleac returned to the University of Utah initially planning to pursue a medical degree, but switched to studying for his masters in physics. In 2009, Doleac became a graduate manager for the University of Utah men's basketball team.Currently, Doleac teaches physics, and coaches the men's varsity basketball team at Park City High School in Park City, Utah.

Danny Schayes

Daniel Leslie Schayes (born May 10, 1959) is a retired American professional basketball player who played for Syracuse University, and then played 18 seasons in the NBA, from 1981 until 1999. At 6' 11" and 235 pounds, he played at center. He is the son of the late Hall of Famer Dolph Schayes.

Gregory Fuller "Greg" Kite (born August 5, 1961) is an American retired professional basketball player. Kite was a member of two NBA Championship teams with the Boston Celtics in 1984 and 1986. Kite played eleven NBA seasons.

Juwan Howard

Juwan Antonio Howard (born February 7, 1973) is the head basketball coach at the University of Michigan. He was an assistant coach for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 2013 to 2019. Howard played in the NBA from 1994 until 2013.
A one-time All-Star and one-time All-NBA power forward, he began his NBA career as the fifth overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft, selected by the Washington Bullets. Before he was drafted, he starred as an All-American on the Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team. At Michigan he was part of the Fab Five recruiting class of 1991 that reached the finals of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship in 1992 and 1993. Howard won his first NBA championship with Miami in the 2012 NBA Finals and his second NBA championship in the 2013 NBA Finals.
Howard was an All-American center and an honors student at Chicago Vocational Career Academy. Michigan was able to sign him early over numerous competing offers and then convince others in his recruiting class to join him. The Fab Five, which included Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson, served as regular starters during their freshman and sophomore years for the 1991–92 and 1992–93 Wolverines. Howard was the last member of the Fab Five to remain active as a professional basketball player. Although many of the Wolverines' accomplishments from 1992 to 1998 were forfeited due to the University of Michigan basketball scandal, which involved booster payments to players to launder money from illegal gambling, Howard's 1993–94 All-American season continues to be recognized.
Howard played six-and-a-half seasons (1994–2001) for the Bullets franchise (renamed the Wizards in 1997), three full seasons (2004–07) for the Houston Rockets, two plus seasons for the Heat and shorter stints for several other teams. During his rookie year with the Bullets, he became the first player to graduate on time with his class after leaving college early to play in the NBA. After one season as an All-Rookie player and a second as an All-Star and an All-NBA performer, he became the first NBA player to sign a $100 million contract. While he continued to be a productive starter, he was never again selected to play in an All-Star Game. Towards the end of his contract, he was traded at the NBA trade deadline twice to make salary cap room. He was most recently a regular starter during the 2005–06 NBA season. In 2010, he signed with the Heat and entered his 17th NBA season, during which he reached the playoffs for the sixth time and made his first career NBA Finals appearance. He remained with the Heat the following season and won his first NBA championship during the 2012 NBA Finals. He returned to the Heat for part of the following season, and won a second championship. Howard has developed a reputation as a humanitarian for his civic commitment.

Darko Miličić

Darko Miličić (Serbian Cyrillic: Дарко Миличић, Serbian pronunciation: [ˈdarko ˈmilit͡ʃit͡ɕ]; born June 20, 1985) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. He is 2.13 m (7 ft 0 in), and played center. 
He was selected by the Detroit Pistons as the second overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft after LeBron James, and ahead of players such as Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. However, Miličić never received significant playing time during his ​2 1⁄2 seasons with the team and was traded to the Orlando Magic in 2006. After stints with the Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks, Miličić was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2010, then signed a four-year contract in the off-season. However, he was released by Minnesota in 2012. He signed with Boston Celtics later that year, but was released after playing one regular-season game. He is the fourth youngest player and the youngest foreign player to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He represented the Serbian national basketball team internationally.

Ronald Glen "Big Baby" Davis (born January 1, 1986) is an American professional basketball player for the St. John's Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada. He played for the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). 
After playing college basketball with LSU, Davis was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics with the 35th overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft. Shortly thereafter, he was traded to the Boston Celtics, with whom he won the 2008 NBA Finals.
