The Best Outsiders Members

List RulesVote up your favorite DC characters who, at one point or another, were part of the Outsiders.

While basically everybody is familiar with which heroes were members of the Justice League, not being quite as familiar with who was part of Outsiders is basically the whole point. Batman originally founded Outsiders because of difficulties working within the "mainstream" of Justice League.

As such, the best Outsiders members tend to be rogues who like to do things their own way. They formed because Justice League explicitly told them not to go into the war-ravaged (and fake) country of Markovia. These are the badasses who tell Superman, "Nah." These DC comics members include titans like Batman, Black Lightning, Martian Manhunter, and even Green Arrow. Basically, anyone who's cool in the comics and wants to seek some sweet vigilante justice without having to deal with all the rules and regulations that other superhero groups have to adhere to.

But there have been several Outsiders members over the years, so we made a list of the best past and present Outsiders members, and it's up to you to vote up the best and vote down the worst.

    Halo

First appearance: The Brave and the Bold #200 July, 1983

Alright, so this woman Violet Harper is a pretty bad lady who ends up getting killed by some criminals. In the process, however, she somehow merges with a thing called an Aurakle, which is ostensibly an ancient energy-being that looks like a sphere of iridescent light. This new creation has the power to create auras of the seven rainbow colors around herself and use those "halos" to kick butt. Batman noticed this skill, and recruited her to join his Outsiders team.

So Prince Brion Markov of Markovia fame needed to put down an insurrection led by a bad guy named Baron Bedlam. To that end, a certain Dr. Helga Jace created a device that gave the Prince superpowers. After several other superheroes assist him in stopping the coup, Markov joins the Outsiders full time.

Wendy Jones gained super powers when her mom let her company experiment on Wendy in utero giving her the power of flight. Later on, Jones became a super villain and actually fought against the Outsiders. Eventually she comes around and joins the team for a brief period before deciding to go to college instead. Smart move.

First appearance: Black Lightning #1 April, 1977

Jefferson Pierce won a few gold medals in the Olympics and then decided to return to his hometown of Metropolis to become a principal. But his old neighborhood was beset by gangs, so he did what all awesome teachers do: put on a mask, slipped into some tights, and beat up thousands of criminals using the power of lighting.
