The storied history of Penn State has resulted in national championships and a loyal, devoted fan and alumni base who proudly call themselves &quot;Penn Staters.&quot; However, the players aren&#39;t slouches either. Franco Harris and Jack Ham are two Hall of Fame players who attended Penn State and were forces on the gridiron in both college and the NFL. In the 1990s, players like Kerry Collins, Ki-Jana Carter, and Kyle Brady bridged the program&#39;s success into the next generation, while the 2000s saw running back Larry Johnson carry the team to greatness.

Saquon Barkley (born February 9, 1997) is an American football running back for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Penn State for three seasons, running for 3,843 yards with 43 rushing touchdowns, while garnering 1,195 receiving yards with 8 touchdown receptions. He totaled 5,557 all-purpose yards in his three-year collegiate career. Barkley received national attention and finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting with 304 total votes and third in Maxwell Award voting. He also received multiple national and Big Ten Conference awards and recognition. During Barkley's three-year collegiate career, he broke and set numerous Penn State records including most rushing touchdowns in a career, most rushing yards by a freshman and sophomore as well as most total yards in a single game. Barkley was drafted with the second overall pick by the Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Curtis Thomas Enis (born June 15, 1976) is a former American college and professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for three seasons.  He played college football for Penn State University, and earned All-American honors.  Enis was a first-round pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, and played professionally for the NFL's Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns.

Curt Warner

Curtis Edward Warner (born March 18, 1961) is an American former professional football running back.  A two-time All-American at Penn State University, Warner was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft. Warner was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on December 8, 2009.Warner was the 1983 AFC Offensive Player of the Year in his rookie NFL season.

Ki-Jana Carter

Kenneth Leonard "Ki-Jana" Carter (; born September 12, 1973) is a former American football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons.  He played college football for Penn State University, and earned All-American honors.  He was the No. 1 draft pick in the 1995 NFL Draft, and he played professionally for the Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints, but his career was cut short by an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).



John Cappelletti (born August 9, 1952) is a former American football running back.  He played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) with the Los Angeles Rams and the San Diego Chargers.
Prior to his professional career, he attended Penn State, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1973. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993. Penn State football coach Joe Paterno said that Cappelletti was "the best football player I ever coached." Cappelletti's relationship with his younger brother Joey, who was stricken with leukemia, was chronicled into a book and made-for-TV movie.

Franco Harris (born March 7, 1950) is an American former football running back who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks. He was picked by the Steelers in the first round of the 1972 NFL Draft, the 13th selection overall. He played his first 12 years in the NFL with the Steelers; his 13th and final year was spent with the Seahawks. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990.

Matt Suhey

Matthew Jerome Suhey (born July 7, 1958 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania) is a former professional American football player, playing fullback for ten seasons in the National Football League for the Chicago Bears. He won a Super Bowl as a member of the 1985 Chicago Bears while scoring a touchdown in the game and was named to the Pennsylvania Football All-Century Team.Suhey was lead blocker and friend of Walter Payton. He is also a close friend of the Payton family, and the executor of the Payton estate since the death of Walter. Although Suhey was never a leader in any statistical category, he was a fan favorite for his personality and blocking ability.
Matt Suhey is one of three sons of College Football Hall of Fame guard Steve Suhey to letter at Penn State University and a grandson of Hall of Fame Penn State player and coach Bob Higgins.  His son, Joe Suhey, was a fullback at Penn State from 2007–2011. The Higgins–Suhey family is often referred to as the "first family of Penn State football" due to their affiliation with the program spanning four generations.

Michael Robinson

Burton Michael Robinson (born February 6, 1983) is a former American football fullback. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He is currently an analyst for the NFL Network.
Robinson played college football at Penn State. He played quarterback and wide receiver, leading the team to a Big Ten Conference title in 2005 and being recognized as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year in 2005. He won the Chicago Tribune Silver Football as the Big Ten's MVP.
In 2011, he was elected to his first and only Pro Bowl as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. In his last year with the Seahawks, he helped the team win Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos.
