The Creepiest Pictures That Allegedly Contain Ghosts

For centuries, people have reported sightings of ghosts, feeling spirits around them, and living in a haunted home. Are ghosts real? Have ghosts ever really been photographed? Thousands upon thousands of stories have been recounted, telling tales of horrific deaths and haunted areas across the world, dating all the way back to pre-literate cultures.

What is the best picture of a ghost? Many of the best ghost photos have been taken at cemeteries, while others seemingly depict spirits in old houses or even in the bright sunshine.

One great ghost photo was taken in 1936 by Captain Provand and was published in a 1936 edition of Country Life magazine. The ghost depicted is believed to be Lady Dorothy Walpole, as she is said to haunt the staircase of Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England, where the photo was taken.

In the back row, the face of Freddy Jackson, who was killed days earlier in a freak accident, can supposedly be seen peeking out behind one of the squadron members. However, some believe his appearance is the result of a double exposure.
