The Most Popular Platformer Video Games Right Now

Updated March 13, 2020 262 votes 43 voters15 items

We’re ranking the most popular platformer games in 2020. The proverbial backbone of every modern video game, some of the greatest games ever made were good old-fashioned platformers. Most platformer games require players to navigate in between tight (and often deadly) spaces. Jumping over obstacles, crawling under bridges, dodging Donkey Kong’s flaming barrels - these are the gameplay mechanics that make platformers so great.

Which platformer is your favorite? Whether you prefer to kick it old school in Nintendo’s new Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, test your ninja skills in The Messenger, or prefer to add a dash of horror with Little Nightmares, make your voice heard below.

Vote up your favorite platformers and see which games top the list.
