One of the things that makes Mob Psycho 100 so special is how complex the characters are. The protagonist is a young boy with psychic abilities who wants to use them to protect people - but who is also trying to figure out who he is as a developing human. With powers as extreme as his, he could come across as unrelatable or even boring, but because he behaves exactly like a real child would, he's lovable. Meanwhile, his mentor Reigen is a con artist who lies about his psychic abilities and exploits Mob's powers - but he's also a genuinely kind person who sticks close to his own moral system, flawed though that may be. It's not just the major characters who deserve attention, though - watching Tenga Onigawara go from a bully to the kind of person who'd give away his shoes is deeply enjoyable.
