There are lots of punk songs about death, and for good reason. Musicians across all genres have penned tunes about man's inevitable demise. But with punk music, you often find songs about death that are a bit more shocking and straightforward in their approach to the subject - but no less powerful and moving.

One of the most poetic punk death songs came from the Jim Carroll Band on its 1980 debut album Catholic Boy. “People Who Died” catalogues the people Carroll knew who had passed away. When it comes to punk songs about dying, this one takes the proverbial cake.

A lot of the punk dying songs on this list are about losing someone beloved and grieving their loss - but some aren’t. The Clash’s “Death is a Star” is one example. In it, Joe Strummer sings about violence in films, and how (and why) people are so drawn to death on the big screen.

From “Bro Hymn” by Pennywise to “Pity the Dead” by Bad Religion, these are all among the best punk songs about death. Is your favorite punk song about dying on this list? Vote for all your favorites.
