The Best Robot & Android Movies
This list of the best robot movies includes a number of great films featuring robots, androids, gynoids, cyborgs and every other type of robot you can think of. The '80s and '90s robot movies are among some of the best ever made. You can also vote for your favorites and re-rank this list of robot & android movies any way you like. Not surprisingly, many of the robot/android movies listed here are also considered among the best movies of all time. The best robot movies of all time are often also considered some of the greatest sci-fi movies and the best action movies of all time, too.
One excellent example a cyborg in a movie is the Terminator films: Both 1984's The Terminator and 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day are epic movies that feature cutting-edge technology (and awesome special effects!) As machines have advanced throughout human history, it has of course been inevitable that we would try to recreate ourselves. The necessary level of technology, however, wasn't reached until the 20th century, and it was not until the advent of filmmaking that we could truly see what a fully functional robot should be. One of the first and most famous robots was unquestionably Maria from the old silent film Metropolis. Since then, robot and android movies have been plentiful, capturing movie goers' collective imaginations.
