- Rick James' tombstone is definitely one of the best of the best. The huge tombstone bears James' likeness from his hay day - it's actually an etching of a picture on James' album 'Street Songs.' Wicked cool. James, who died in August of 2004 of a heart attack, is buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, New York.Is this cool?
Like his bandmate, Johnny Ramone, famed Ramones founder and bassist Dee Dee Ramone's grave/memorial is located in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Unlike his bandmate, Dee Dee (aka Douglas Glenn Colvin), went for a slightly smaller gravestone. It features the Ramones seal, general information about his life and death (in 2002), and a quote from Dee Dee that reads, "OK... I gotta go now."Is this cool?
Musician Bon Scott died in February of 1980. Scott is buried in the Fremantle Cemetery in Western Australia. His tombstone, in addition to the usual info (birth, death, family, etc.), also includes a very non Bon Scott-ish poem:
"Close to our heartsMmmmkay.
He Will Always Stay
Loved and Remembered
Every Day."Is this cool?

This one may surprise you. One might expect musician Frank Zappa to have a totally crazy tombstone, right? Sadly, no. In fact, Frank Zappa, who died in December of 1993, has an unmarked grave! Nothing. Nada. Zappa was interred at Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles - and he has no grave marker of any kind. Still making a statement, even in death.
FYI: He's not the only super-famous musician buried in an unmarked grave in Westwood: Famed rocker Roy Orbison is also buried in an unmarked grave just a few yards away from Zappa.Strange? Absolutely. Is this cool?
