What is the best season of The Challenge? Now’s your chance to voice your opinion. Was MTV The Challenge Vendettas your favorite season - or were you more of a The Challenge Final Reckoning fan? There's also The Challenge War of the Worlds, which really shook things up. It’s hard to rank The Challenge best seasons, since there are a whopping 35 of them and the series has been renewed for a 36th season. The show has been on since 1998.

If you’re about to search "CT The Challenge," let us save you some time. The absolutely insane elimination round where Chris "CT" Tamburello carried Johnny Bananas like a backpack is from season 20, Cutthroat. There are certainly a lot of options for the best seasons of The Challenge.

  • Host: T.J. Lavin

    Winners: Johnny Bananas and Camila Nakagawa took home the win, splitting $150,000.

    Chris "CT" Tamburello and Diem Brown won second place, splitting $100,000.

    Ty Ruff and Emily Schromm came in third, splitting $40,000.

    Memorable moments:

    • Mike "The Miz" Mizanin returned to The Challenge to host the season finale as well as the reunion special.
    • When Emily got into a fight with partner Ty, she decided to put on blackface to make fun of him, upsetting her partner and the rest of the cast with the racist action. She continued to insist it wasn't racist and claimed not to know why it was offensive before finally relenting on the reunion show.

  • The Challenge: Battle of the Exes II (Season 26)

    Host: T.J. Lavin

    Winners: Jordan Wiseley and Sarah Rice took first place, winning $250,000.

    Leroy Garrett and Theresa González were the runners-up, taking home $70,000.

    Jay Gotti and Jenna Compono were in third place when they were disqualified, taking home nothing.

    Memorable moments:

    • Jay earned host T.J. Lavin's fury after refusing to drink the gross liquid in the "Don't Flip Your Lid" challenge. His refusal resulted in the team's disqualification, and he and Jenna losing out on $30,000.
    • Beloved vet Diem Brown collapsed during filming and had to be airlifted to a New York hospital, where she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. She passed away on November 14, 2014. This season of The Challenge was dedicated to her.
    • This season was also dedicated to Ryan Knight, who passed away on November 27, 2014.

  • The Challenge: Cutthroat (Season 20)

    Host: T.J. Lavin

    Winners: Remaining Red Team members - Brad Fiorenza, Dunbar Merrill, Tori Fiorenza, and Tyler Duckworth - won the final.  

    Memorable moments:

    • They brought in Chris "CT" Tamburello and Tina Barta to compete in the Gulag. This resulted in the iconic image of CT using Johnny Bananas as a backpack
    • Laurel Stucky got in trouble for drunkenly insulting Eric "Big Easy" Banks on his size, and though she apologized on, he confronted her at the reunion special saying she was insincere. 
    • This season famous The Challenge couple Cara Maria Sorbello and Abram Boise got together. 
    • Brad and Tori were the first married couple to compete on The Challenge

  • Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat (Season 12)

    Winners: Darrell Taylor and Aviv Melmed won $250,000, Tina Barta and Kenny Santucci won $30,000, and Wes Bergmann and Casey Cooper won $20,000.

    Memorable moments: 

    • Diem Brown revealed to partner Derrick Kosinski that she had been diagnosed with overian cancer.
