It's such a great series, so let's rank every season of LA Ink from best to worst. In case you're unfamiliar with the TLC reality series, LA Ink follows tattoo artist Kat Von D as she returns to Los Angeles to open her own tattoo shop, High Voltage Tattoo. The series follows Kat as she must not only keep High Voltage Tattoo up and running smoothly, but juggle her responsibilities with outside pursuits in everything from publishing books to developing her own fragrance line and opening an art gallery. LA Ink also chronicles the inner working of the shop as it explores the relationships among Kat's crew.

LA Ink Season 1

Season 1 first premiered on August 7, 2007 and contains 13 episodes. In Season 1, Kat Von D returns to Los Angeles to run her own tattoo shop, High Voltage Ink. Already famous for her black and grey tattoo style, she soon has a long list of clients including musicians and up-and-coming stars. 

Some of the popular episodes from this season include "LA Ink Grand Reopening," "Boobs Rule," and "Kat's Gnarly Day."

Memorable moments from this season include:

- Kat and her team celebrate the grand opening of High Voltage Ink in true Rock n' Roll fashion.

- Kim and Kat compete to see who can last the longest on a cleanse. 

- Frank Lero of My Chemical Romance comes in to get a tattoo, but nothing goes as planned when Kat finds herself running late.

LA Ink Season 7

Season 7 first premiered on July 28, 2011 and contains 8 episodes. In the show's final season, Kat's stress to balance all her pursuits intensifies as she tries to get together a photo shoot for a fashion editor. She also plans for her upcoming wedding with fiance Jesse James and makes plans for the future.

Some of the popular episodes from this season include "Kat's New Beginnings," "Addicted," and "Nothing Is Forever, Not Even Tattoos."

Memorable moments from this season include:

- Kat decides to design her own dress for her wedding with fiance, Jesse James. 

- Kat finally discovers a dark secret that Arianna has been hiding. 

- After a visit to Austin with Jesse, Kat decides to open up a tattoo shop there.

LA Ink Season 2

Season 2 first premiered on January 8, 2008 and contains 13 episodes. This season, Kat struggles to balance her responsibilities as a boss alongside her friendship with an employee named Pixie. She's ultimately forced to make a tough decision.

Some of the popular episodes from this season include "New Beginnings," "Kat's World Record," and "The Worst Day Ever."

Memorable moments from this season include:

- Tensions begin to boil as Pixie takes a week off without asking and asks for further time off to moonlight.

- Kat attempts to set a world record by doing 400 tattoos in 24 hours.

- Kat decides to build a full-sized skate ramp in the shop.

LA Ink Season 4

Season 4 first premiered on July 9, 2009 and contains 13 episodes. This season, Kat returns to the shop after 6 months away on a book tour to find things busier than ever. As Kat struggles to run the shop and promote her other businesses, she brings in a new employee named Aubrey whose attempts to fit in tend to only create more tension. 

Some popular episodes from this season include "Tick Tock, Biological Clock," "Sobriety and Sisterhood," and "Blonde Ambition."

Memorable moments from this season include:

- Kat goes against her usual habit of only hiring people she knows by bringing in a new tattoo artist named Amy.

- Kat does a photo shoot to promote her cosmetic line. 

- When Kat has a 2-years-sober anniversary, the crew plans a special surprise to help her celebrate.
