The Most Hilarious Small Town Comedy Movies, Ranked

Updated June 19, 2020 262 votes 26 voters 1.4k views37 items

The funniest small town movies offer not only laughs but also colorful characters and charming settings. By placing their stories away from big cities, top small town comedies are able to mine laughs from a laid-back way of life, the way people in less populated towns tend to be in each other's business, and the interesting little quirks that you often find when you step away from metropolitan areas. Movies like Groundhog Day and Fargo simply wouldn't work as well if they took place in major cities, which puts them in the running for the best small town comedy. They depend on the flavor that a small town setting brings.

Vote up your favorite comedy movies about small towns from the list below. That way the greatest small town comedy will make it to the top of the list. If there's are especially funny films that you don't see on the list, please add them. Don't forget to check back to see how other users are ranking your picks.
