The '90s for Saturday Night Live was just as tumultuous as the '80s had be as NBC executives continued to mess with the show's content and got rid of cast members they didn’t like, such as Adam Sandler and Chris Farley. Lorne Michaels stood his ground, or tried to, and continued to go after fresh talent, making way for Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, and Chris Rock. Despite the ups and downs, there was some great comedy happening on the SNL stage in the 1990s. Which '90s SNL cast members were the greatest?

As Michaels stacked up the cast, a rift occurred between the vets and the newbies, making life in general very tense. When key players Phil Hartman and Dana Carvey left, the gap widened. Saturday Night Live suffered from this upheaval and was, at times, uneven. SNL was definitely having an identity crisis and change was needed. However, as audiences tuned in and out, Will Ferrell became a star and some of the most memorable and best Saturday Night Live characters were born.

Despite the drama, the cast of Saturday Night Live in the nineties was full of great talent and some of funny people who would go down in history as the best comedians of all time. If you were in charge of SNL in the '90s, which cast members would have been your go-tos? Upvote the best SNL featured players and cast members who were on the show in the '90s below!
