List RulesThis list includes studio albums only, so if you add an album make sure it's a proper studio release.

Soundgarden is widely considered one of the best alternative rock bands ever. Since they’re such an influential band, let’s rank the best Soundgarden albums, with the help of your votes. Formed in Seattle, Washington in 1984 by Chris Cornell, with lead guitarist Kim Thayil, Soundgarden were one of the creators of the '90s "grunge" sound. Their critically-acclaimed Superunknown (1994) yielded the Grammy award-winning singles "Black Hole Sun" and "Spoonman," some of the most popular Soundgarden songs.

This Soundgarden discography is ranked from best to worst, so the top Soundgarden albums can be found at the top of the list. To make it easy for you, we haven't included Soundgarden singles, EPs, or compilations, so everything you see here should only be studio albums. If you think the greatest Soundgarden album isn't high enough on the list, then be sure to vote for it so it receives the credit it deserves. Make sure you don't just vote for critically acclaimed albums; if you have a favorite Soundgarden album, then vote it up, even if it doesn't necessarily include Soundgarden's top hits.

On May 17, 2017, lead singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell died in Detroit; he was 52.

This is a list that features albums like Superunknown (1994) and Badmotorfinger (1991). This list of popular Soundgarden CDs has been voted on by music fans around the world, so the order of this list isn't just one person's opinion.
