While Walter Becker and Donald Fagen founded Steely Dan in 1972, the Bard College classmates stopped performing live in 1974. Before their breakup in 1981, Steely Dan became a studio-band made up of Baker, Fagen, and a revolving cast of legendary session musicians. Fortunately for fans, the band reunited in 1993 and have toured since.
