Whenever people sit back, light a fat one and want to chill on their couch, it's likely that they'll want throw on a great album or a few songs that set the mood. Thus, the best stoner music can literally be anything that potheads think will jive with how they're feeling. The beauty of stoner music is that its able to cross genres, bands, styles and is very inclusive. There's no rhyme or reason to what is considered stoner music - since there already is a genre called stoner rock - but this is entirely different. We have rap, reggae, and electronic bands all represented on this list.ย 

So, what is the best stoner music? If you're a pothead, then you're likely to agree that jam bands like Grateful Dead and Phish, rappers like Cypress Hill and Snoop Dogg, and, of course, Pink Floyd and Bob Marley all qualify as great stoner artists. These stoner bands all have laid back grooves, smoking hot riffs, and even sometimes reference marijuana in their lyrics. Others may not directly reference getting high, but their music is excellent when sitting with a J in hand.
