All the Tenchu games, from Tenchu: Stealth Assassins to Tenchu: Shadow Assassins, give you the opportunity to stick to the shadows. Have you been able to perfect your ninja skills and unlock the Grand Master rating at the end of each level? If not there are plenty of opportunities to try with eight Tenchu games and every level they offer. Initially only available on the PlayStation console, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven enjoyed an Xbox release despite receiving a lower rating on Metacritic for on that platform. The additional platform release served to widen the fan base for the franchise's two main characters Rikimaru and Ayame.
While the last Tenchu video game came out in 2009, it has retained a loyal fan base even outside of the United States as Tenchu: Time of the Assassins was released only in Japan and Europe. This was the only Tenchu game to be released exclusively outside the U.S. and it returned to North America with Tenchu: Dark Secret in the same year and Tenchu Z a mere year after that. While PS4 still has yet to see a Tenchu video game, Gamespot released an article stating that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was originally supposed to be the next installment in the Tenchu saga. So if you are looking to slip back into the shadows be sure to check it out. In the meantime, vote up your favorite games in the Tenchu franchise.
