Kevin Durant

Kevin Wayne Durant (born September 29, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played one season of college basketball for the University of Texas, and was selected as the second overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2007 NBA draft. He played nine seasons with the franchise, which became the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008, before signing with the Golden State  Warriors in 2016, winning back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018.
Durant was a heavily recruited high school prospect who was widely regarded as the second-best player in his class. In college, he won numerous year-end awards and became the first freshman to be named Naismith College Player of the Year. As a professional, he has won two NBA championships, an NBA Most Valuable Player Award, two Finals MVP Awards, two NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Awards, four NBA scoring titles, the NBA Rookie of the Year Award, and two Olympic gold medals. Durant has also been selected to nine All-NBA teams and ten NBA All-Star teams.
Off the court, Durant is one of the highest-earning basketball players in the world, due in part to endorsement deals with companies such as Foot Locker and Nike. He has developed a reputation for philanthropy and regularly leads the league in All-Star votes and jersey sales. In recent years, he has contributed to The Players' Tribune as both a photographer and writer. In 2012, he ventured into acting, appearing in the film Thunderstruck.

LaMarcus Aldridge

LaMarcus Nurae Aldridge (born July 19, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The power forward played college basketball for two seasons with the Texas Longhorns. Aldridge was selected second overall in the 2006 NBA draft. After spending nine seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, he signed with the Spurs in 2015. He has been selected to five All-NBA teams and is a seven-time NBA All-Star. He is widely known for his signature fadeaway jump shot.

T. J. Ford

Terrance Jerod Ford (born March 24, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player. Having been awarded numerous top basketball accolades in high school and college, Ford entered the 2003 NBA draft and was selected eighth overall by the Milwaukee Bucks. Ford's recurring back injuries resulted in him missing many games in his three seasons with the Bucks, but in 2005, it was announced that he was fit to play basketball again. Ford was traded to the Raptors prior to the 2006–07 NBA season, and established himself as the starting point guard, helping the team win the Atlantic Division crown and reach the 2007 NBA Playoffs. Following an injury sustained in the 2007–08 NBA season, however, Ford had difficulties reclaiming the starting spot and was traded to the Indiana Pacers. He signed with KK Zagreb of Croatia during the 2011 NBA lockout where he appeared in one game, playing 17 minutes and scoring 7 points. On December 9, 2011, Ford signed a contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
Off the court, Ford set up the T. J. Ford Foundation in 2004 to help participants achieve their academic, personal and civil goals.

P. J. Tucker

Anthony Leon "P. J." Tucker Jr. (born May 5, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

D. J. Augustin

Darryl Gerard "D. J." Augustin Jr. (born November 10, 1987) is an American professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the University of Texas Longhorns from 2006 to 2008. He was drafted ninth overall by the Charlotte Bobcats in the 2008 NBA draft.



Myles Turner

Myles Christian Turner (born March 24, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played one season for the Texas Longhorns before declaring for the 2015 NBA draft and being selected by the Pacers with the 11th overall pick. Prior to the start of the 2017–18 season, Turner was elected team captain. On October 15, 2018, Turner signed a four-year, $72 million contract extension with the Pacers.

Tristan Thompson

Tristan Trevor James Thompson (born March 13, 1991) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played one season of college basketball for Texas before being drafted fourth overall by the Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA draft. He also represents Canada in international competition. Thompson won an NBA championship with the Cavaliers in 2016.

Travis Mays

Travis Cortez Mays (born June 19, 1968) is an American women's basketball coach and former professional player who has been the current women's head coach for Southern Methodist University (SMU) since 2016. Mays was selected by the Sacramento Kings in the first round (14th overall pick) of the 1990 NBA draft. Born in Ocala, Florida, he played basketball for Vanguard High School before enrolling at the University of Texas to compete for the Longhorns. After his time in the NBA, Mays played professional basketball in several leagues in Europe.

LaSalle Thompson

LaSalle Thompson III (born June 23, 1961) is an American former professional basketball player, who spent most of his 15-year career with the Kansas City/Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers.  The 6'10", 245-pound Thompson spent time at both the center and power forward positions during his playing career. He later served as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Bobcats, during head coach Larry Brown's tenure and for the New York Knicks during head coach Mike Woodson's tenure.

Terrence Rencher

Terrence Lamont Rencher (born February 19, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player.  He was listed at 6'3" (1.90 m).
Rencher was a prep star at St. Raymond High School for Boys in the Bronx, New York, earning New York City MVP honors in his senior year. Rencher attended the University of Texas at Austin, being drawn to the high-paced tempo of play that coach Tom Penders employed. There he finished his career with 2,306 points (making him both the school's and Southwest Conference's all-time career scorer in men's basketball) and 440 assists. He was selected by the Washington Bullets in the 1995 NBA draft, but his draft rights were traded along with Rex Chapman to the Miami Heat, for the draft rights to Jeff Webster and Ed Stokes. He was traded midway through his rookie season (1995–96) with the Heat to the Phoenix Suns, in exchange for Tony Smith. Internationally, he played for Bnei Herzliya in Israel, Pallacanestro Cantù, Basket Rimini and Viola Reggio Calabria in Italy, KK Split in Croatia and Telekom Baskets Bonn and RheinEnergie Köln in Germany, amongst others.
He moved back to the United States in 2006 and enrolled at UT for the 2007 spring semester. In addition to taking three semesters of classes and serving as a student mentor, Rencher also served as the basketball program director at the Regents School of Austin and coach of the boys' varsity team.
His college coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Saint Louis University under the late Rick Majerus during the 2008–09 season.
In 2009–11 he worked as an assistant coach at Texas State University under Doug Davalos.
In 2011–12 he worked as an assistant coach at the University of Tulsa under Doug Wojcik.
In 2012–13 he worked as an assistant coach at Sam Houston State University under Jason Hooten.
In 2013–15 he worked as an assistant coach at Texas State University under Danny Kaspar.
He was hired as an assistant coach at University of New Mexico in July 2015 to work under head coach Craig Neal. After two winning seasons, he accepted a new position as an assistant coach at University of San Diego in 2017. In his first year at University of San Diego, Rencher assisted the team in earning a 20-win 2017-2018 season, inclusive of a quarterfinals appearance in the CollegeInsider.com (CIT) Post-Season Tournament.  In his second year, Rencher assisted first-time head coach Sam Scholl in improving the team to a 21-win 2018-2019 season, which included a semi-finals finish in the West Coast ConferenceTournament, as well as a National Invitational Tournament (NIT) appearance, the program's first in school history.

Christopher Steven Mihm (born July 16, 1979) is an American former professional basketball center. After playing college basketball at Texas, he was drafted with the 7th overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls.

B. J. Tyler

Brandon Joel Tyler (born April 30, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player.
Tyler, a 6' 1" (185 cm) point guard, attended DePaul University for his freshman year and the University of Texas at Austin for his final three college years before being taken twentieth overall in the 1994 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played 55 games for them in 1994-95, averaging 3.5 points and 3.2 assists per game.
Prior to the 1995-96 NBA season, Tyler was selected by the Toronto Raptors in the 1995 expansion draft. According to journalist Chris Young's book Drive, Tyler accidentally fell asleep with a pack of ice on his ankle, causing severe nerve damage. Robbed of the speed that his game was based on, he was subsequently forced to retire.

Johnny Moore

John Brian Moore (born March 31, 1958) is an American retired professional basketball player. Moore played college basketball for The University of Texas at Austin under head coaches Leon Black and Abe Lemons from 1975 to 1979. He spent his entire NBA career playing point guard for the San Antonio Spurs, save one game for the New Jersey Nets. A rare illness caused Moore to have his career put on hold in early 1986.

Kris Clack

Kristopher George Clack (born July 6, 1977) is a retired American professional basketball player, formerly for the University of Texas. He was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1999 and later went on to play in the Lega Basket Serie A with Pallacanestro Reggiana and Basket Napoli.

James Thomas

James D. Thomas Jr. (born November 22, 1980) is an American former professional basketball player who most recently worked as an assistant coach for the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League. A 6'8" forward from the University of Texas at Austin, Thomas was the recipient of the 2004-05 NBA Development League Rookie of the Year. He played in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Chicago Bulls. After that he took his career overseas.
In 2012, he signed with Maccabi Haifa BC.
For the 2013–14 season he signed with Maccabi Rishon LeZion.

Lance Blanks

Lance Blanks (born September 9, 1966) is a retired American professional basketball player who was selected by the Detroit Pistons in the first round (26th overall) of the 1990 NBA draft. A guard, Blanks played for the Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves in three NBA seasons, averaging 2.0 ppg. He played collegiately at the University of Virginia and the University of Texas at Austin.  Blanks and teammates Travis Mays and Joey Wright were known as the "BMW Scoring Machine" during the 1989–90 basketball season.  That Longhorn team finished second in the Southwest Conference and advanced to the Elite Eight in the 1990 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.From 2010 to 2013, Blanks served as the general manager of the Phoenix Suns, a job he earned after five seasons as assistant general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Prior to joining the Cavaliers, he served as the director of scouting for the San Antonio Spurs. He joined the Spurs in 2000 as a scout and was promoted to director of scouting in September 2002. Also while in San Antonio, Blanks served as the Spurs' television analyst during the 2004–05 season.Blanks' father, Sid, is a former AFL/NFL player, and his cousin Larvell is a former Major League Baseball infielder.

Slater Martin

Slater Nelson "Dugie" Martin Jr. (October 22, 1925 – October 18, 2012) was an American professional basketball player and coach who was a playmaking guard for 11 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born in Elmina, Walker County, Texas and played in seven NBA All-Star Games.
Martin was one of the NBA's best defensive players in the 1950s, playing for the George Mikan-led Minneapolis Lakers that won four NBA championships between 1950 and 1954.   In 1956, he joined Bob Pettit's St. Louis Hawks and won another NBA title in 1958.

Martin was an alumnus of Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, where he led his school to two state basketball championships in 1942 and 1943.[1]  He is also a graduate of University of Texas at Austin, where he set a scoring record in 1949 with 49 points in a game for the Longhorns against Texas Christian University (or TCU). Throughout his career with the Longhorns, he averaged 12.7 points per game. His former high school now holds an annual fund raiser in his name, the "Slater Martin Golf Tournament", which successfully raises tens of thousands of dollars each year for high school student clubs and athletic teams.
He was head coach of the Houston Mavericks of the American Basketball Association in the 1967–68 season and part of 1968–69, and led the Mavericks into the 1968 ABA Playoffs.
Martin was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on May 3, 1982 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He is the only Longhorn to be so honored. His jersey number 15 was retired by the University of Texas on January 31, 2009, making him only the second Longhorn basketball player to have his number retired.
He died of a brief illness on October 18, 2012, in Houston, Texas, aged 86, and is survived by sons Slater Jr and Jim.

Larry Robinson

Larry Robinson (born (1968-01-11)January 11, 1968) is a former American professional basketball player.
Born in Bossier City, Louisiana, he played collegiately for two seasons (1986–88) at Eastern Oklahoma State College (community college) and then two seasons (1988–90) at the Centenary College of Louisiana.
He later played professionally with eight different NBA teams (Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, Vancouver Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks) intermittently from 1990-01 to 2001-02. He also played in CBA, IBL, USBL, and abroad in France, Spain, the Philippines, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico.
He now works for Horseshoe Casino and Hotel in Bossier City, Louisiana as Director of Player Development.

Joey Wright

Joey Glenn Wright (born September 4, 1968) is a retired American professional basketball player. He is the head coach of the Adelaide 36ers who play in the Australian-based National Basketball League (NBL). He has been the coach of two other NBL teams, the Brisbane Bullets, which won the NBL championship, and the now-defunct Gold Coast Blaze.
