The Best Texas Rangers of All Time
This is a list of the greatest Texas Rangers in the history of the franchise. Originally the second incarnation of the Washington Senators, the team moved to Arlington and became the Texas Rangers. It took the team 25 years, but they made their first playoff appearance in 1996, winning the American League Wild Card. After making the playoffs in three of four years, the Rangers fell off for most of the 2000s. Though they didn't win either World Series, many of the best Rangers players ever participated in those playoff games, which is an encouraging sign to fans that the team's better years are ahead.

Ryan had his number 34 retired by the Rangers in 1996 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
