The Most Chilling Quotes From 'The Grudge'

Updated January 6, 2020 119 votes 17 voters19 items

If you're a horror buff, we want you to vote for the best quotes from The Grudge. This is a reboot of the popular franchise, which began with the 2002 Japanese film Ju-On: The Grudge. Of course, it was remade for American audiences in 2004, with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the lead role. A sequel followed two years later. Then the series went dormant for a long time. There are no funny lines here. This new version is all about trying to scare you.

Andrea Riseborough plays Detective Muldoon, a cop looking into a series of bizarre expirations, all tied to a cursed house. By visiting that house, she too begins experiencing strange, disturbing visions. Demian Bichir plays her partner Goodman, John Cho is a realtor who sold the house, and Lin Shaye and Frankie Faison play its current occupants. Also starring in The Grudge are Jacki Weaver as a doctor, Betty Gilpin as the realtor's wife, and William Sadler as a police officer who went crazy after previously investigating the home.

The Grudge was written and directed by Nicolas Pesce, whose previous films are The Eyes of My Mother and Piercing. It's based on the original Japanese screenplay by Takashi Shimizu.

Vote up the most memorable Grudge quotes from the list below, whether they are interesting character moments or one liners designed to elicit chills.
