The Who's Who's Next album could not have come at a better time in their career, with some of the tracks becoming their best and most recognizable songs. Prior to writing and recording the album, the Who was running out of gas coming off their previous release Tommy. After months of tours playing the aforementioned album, the band recognized they needed to do something new, and Who's Next was later released. The music from the album was originally written by guitarist Pete Townshend to be made into a rock opera, but once scratched, the band decided to record the music as a studio album. Who knew it would later be considered on the of best albums of all time?
As a result, rock 'n roll fans everywhere got just what they wanted: an album full of great songs—a few of which would remain the best songs the Who released. Such hits include, "Behind Blue Eyes", "Won't Get Fooled Again", and the ultimate anthem, "Baba O'Riley". All of these songs have truly stood the test of time and have become mainstays in classic rock, but these aren't the only songs the Who's fifth studio album boasts.
