List RulesPlease only rank the players based on their time with the Blue Jays
This is a list of the greatest Toronto Blue Jays ever. When the team formed in 1977, the Toronto Blue Jays were installed as the second Major League team outside of the United States. Over the team's history, the best Blue Jays of all time have generally been young players who have risen through Toronto's farm system. The club's best years came in the early '90s when they won back-to-back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993, besting the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies respectively. The clinching game against Philadelphia is one of the most memorable moments in baseball history. Joe Carter hit a walk-off three run home run to clinch the series. Many of the best Blue Jays of all time were on those championship teams.
The youngest Blue Jays from those championship years was Carlos Delgado, The Puerto Rican powerhouse is one of the greatest sluggers in Blue Jays history. A two-time All-Star, in 2000 and 2003, Delgado holds several Blue Jays single-season and career records. The next year, he hit a career-best .344, along with 41 home runs, 57 doubles, and 137 RBI. He finished fourth in the 2000 American League MVP voting. Delgado tied a Major League record when he smacked four home runs in a single game against Tampa Bay in September 2003.
The only Blue Jay to have his number retired is Hall of Fame second baseman Roberto Alomar. Though he bounced around over the years, Alomar was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame wearing a Toronto Blue Jays cap, cementing his place as one of the top players in BLue Jays history.
