List Rules Only movies based on or inspired by vampire literature.

What are the best movies based on vampire books? Films based on vampire novels have been around since director F.W. Murnau had Max Schreck play Count Orlok in Nosferatu back in 1922. Shadow of the Vampire then imagined, what if the star of Nosferatu was a real vampire. New movies based on vampire fiction fly into theaters on a consistent basis thanks to the success of the Twilight series and Anne Rice vampire books that have been made into movies. What is it about vampire films adapted from books that makes them so appealing to moviegoers? Is it the sympathy they garner by exploring the tragedy of the life they are living? No matter the answer, films based on vampire novels seem to have an immortal shelf life in the eyes of their fans!
