The Best Golden State Warriors First-Round Picks In The NBA Draft

Updated July 26, 2019 469 votes 19 voters42 items

List RulesVote based only on career success with the Golden State Warriors. Only picks made since the NBA/ABA merger (since 1977).

The Golden State Warriors' first-round draft picks for many years after the NBA and ABA merged were defined mostly by misses. Some of those misses were outright NBA draft busts like Shaun Vandiver and Rickey Green. Others were talented players who did their best work for other teams, such as Vince Carter and Penny Hardaway.

In fact, Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond, two of the best basketball players of all time, are the only Warriors first-round picks to make the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame. That will likely change, however, after the retirements of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, two of the best current NBA players, who were both drafted by the Warriors and contributed mightily to a run of three championships in four seasons from 2015-2018.

But which of these players had the greatest impact on the Warriors franchise? The stats below reflect only the players' time spent with the Warriors, and that is what you should base your vote on: Did this player help the Warriors get better?
