The Best Washington Wizards First-Round Picks In The NBA Draft

Updated July 26, 2019 210 votes 9 voters37 items

List RulesVote based only on career success with the Washington Wizards. Only picks made since the NBA/ABA merger (since 1977).

The history of Washington Wizards first-round draft picks in the modern era features a hit list of recent top stars. John Wall and Bradley Beal, two of the best players in the NBA right now, are hoping to add more accomplishments to their names by contending for a title together.

In 2011, however, between taking Wall in 2010 and Beal in 2012, the Wizards took Jan Vesely, who could be considered an all-time first-round draft bust in his own right. That becomes more clear when you realize the Wizards took Vesely over Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, and Jimmy Butler.

So which of these players deserves the top spot when it comes to their contributions for the Wizards franchise? The stats below reflect only players’ time spent with Washington, and that’s what you should base your vote on. Did this player help the Wizards improve during his time with the team?
