These top movies all feature workaholic characters who are high-level executives, small business owners, and flourishing entrepreneurs. Whether it's something as simple as a young woman trying to keep her pie shop afloat in Waitress, or building a business empire in Joy, these women face all sorts of challenges.

Business leaders are discovering that there are strong economic incentives for hiring more women in addition to social justice incentives. Simply put: businesses that hire more women in leadership positions make more money, according to the World Economic Forum. That means there are sure to be more new movies about strong independent career-oriented women, women reinventing themselves, workaholic women, and female executives.
