The great thing about X-Men comics is how each character possesses a unique mutation that makes them special. It's the intermingling and opposition of these unique power sets that make each battle so intriguing. The powers represent an integral component of each delicately crafted personality and delineate characters that can thrive for generations.&nbsp;That uniqueness highlights a central theme of the X-Men mythos: the chaotic and inimitable&nbsp;process of random mutation. Presenting evolution through the prism of individual perception builds a powerful allegory that has drawn in readers for over 50 years.&nbsp;That's why it's so important that no two mutants are alike... at least until a writer runs out of gas and throws in the towel.&nbsp;Over the years, X-Men writers have hatched some amazing characters and then followed them up with knock-offs and carbon copies that are in a word... redundant.The expansion of the mutant population has at some points inferred the existence of thousands of mutants, so some overlap is inevitable, but it's no accident that some of the worst offenders mimic Marvel's most popular characters. Whether they be clones, descendants or just sloppy writing, these are the most redundant X-Men characters of all-time.&nbsp;

The X-Men are a team of mutants whose purpose is to see that humans and mutants coexist peacefully in the pages of Marvel Comics. Unfortunately, not everyone sees eye to eye with the X-Men. There are as many X-Men bad guys as Jay Leno has cars. Meaning a lot.&nbsp;Some which have popped up in the popular X-Men movies.

Many human&nbsp;organizations like the Friends of Humanity think that mutants should be eliminated or banned from living normal lives as their powers are too much of a threat.&nbsp;X-Villains like Apocalypse, Magneto, and Mister Sinister have also been wreaking havoc on the X-Men since 1963, Magneto being their first X-Men villain they&rsquo;ve faced. Even some of the X-Men themselves have crossed the line to the dark side or even started out naughty, like Rogue, who was a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Wolverine and the X-Men can&#39;t even catch a break in their popular blockbuster films against the likes of the Hellfire Club, Lady Deathstrike, and the X-Men enemy Sabretooth.

The X-Men started out in 1963. Back then the original X-Men lineup included the X-Men mutants Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, and Jean Grey, led by Professor X, all with extraordinary powers. The X-Men roster is huge and always expanding, meaning there is a massive&nbsp;number of Marvel mutants missing from the X-Men films. The X-Men first hit pages in&nbsp;1963, and ever since their first big team shakeup with Giant-Size X-Men #1 in 1975, their roster has been in a state of near-constant flux. Part of this is due to the fact that&nbsp;the X-Men are based out of a school, so they have a&nbsp;constant&nbsp;stream of new students to bring in and train before eventually&nbsp;graduating to the main&nbsp;team themselves.&nbsp;

The films can&#39;t be blamed for not using all the mutants since there&#39;s only somewhere around 20 hours of screen time to go around and&nbsp;hundreds of <a href="http://www.ranker.com/list/most-powerful-marvel-mutant/tyler-mitchell" target="_blank">powerful mutants</a>&nbsp;that all have their own fans. Naturally, though, with some characters getting sidelined in cameos, not appearing at all, or being altered to fit into the films&#39; world, plenty of the beloved mutants have been done dirty.

If nothing else, the X-Men are known for protecting a world that hates and fears them. Magneto is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with the X-Men. He has been the primary villain in the X-Men comics, although, he has been an occasional ally and even a member of the X-Men at times. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the character first appears in The X-Men #1.
A powerful mutant with the ability to generate and control magnetic fields, Magneto desired mutants to eventually dominate the human race as he viewed humans as an outdated species that no longer deserves its continual domination over the world. Writers have since fleshed out his character and origin, revealing him to be a Holocaust survivor whose actions are driven by the purpose of protecting the mutant race from suffering a similar fate. His role in comics has varied from supervillain to antihero to superhero. He was once a friend of Professor X, leader of the X-Men, but their different philosophies caused a rift in their friendship.
His character's early history has been compared with the civil rights leader Malcolm X and Jewish Defense League founder Meir Kahane.

Storm

Storm is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with the X-Men. The character first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1, and was created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum. Best known as a longtime member and sometimes leader of the X-Men, Storm is the former queen consort of Wakanda, a title once held by marriage to King T'Challa, better known as the Black Panther.
Storm is a member of a fictional subspecies of humanity known as "mutants," who are born with superhuman abilities. Storm's mutant abilities allow her to control the weather. Storm is a member of the X-Men, a group of mutant heroes who fight for peace and equality between mutants and humans.
Storm is one of the most prominent X-Men, having appeared in many X-Men incarnations. She appears in four installments of the live-action X-Men film series, where she is portrayed by actress Halle Berry and will be played by Alexandra Shipp in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Nightcrawler

Nightcrawler is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with the X-Men. Created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum, he debuted in the comic book Giant-Size X-Men #1.
Nightcrawler is a member of a fictional sub-species of humanity known as mutants, who are born with superhuman abilities. Nightcrawler possesses superhuman agility, the ability to teleport, and adhesive hands and feet. His physical mutations include indigo-colored skin which allows him to become nearly invisible in shadows, two-toed feet and three-fingered hands, yellow eyes, pointed ears and a prehensile tail. In Nightcrawler's earlier comic book appearances he is depicted as being a happy-go-lucky practical joker and teaser, and a fan of swashbuckling fiction. Nightcrawler is a Catholic, and while this is not emphasized as much in his earlier comic book appearances, in later depictions Nightcrawler is more vocal about his faith.
Since his inception, Nightcrawler has had a regular presence in Marvel-related comic books and video games.
