The story follows Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), a New York bookstore manager falls in love with a customer named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and his obsession for her reveals his past. You premiered on Lifetime September 6, 2018. and even before the series became available on Netflix it was announced that You would move to Netflix as a Netflix Original series. Premiering the day after Christmas in 2019, the second season of You is based on Kepnes' follow-up novel Hidden Bodies.
