A long time ago in an America far different from today, people used to drive to stores called "Blockbuster Video" to rent movies. There was no Netflix, Hulu or Amazon. If you wanted to see a movie, and you thought yourself too good for the library, you rented it, watched it the same day, and returned it to the store the next. That was the process people went through to watch movies at home until 2013 ,when streaming services became the new reality and nearly every Blockbuster Video officially closed forever.
This collection of Blockbuster memes and Blockbuster Video jokes below tell a happier tale than what befell it. Because nostalgia, unlike a Blockbuster rental, can be held onto without being fined, the Internet rounded up all the feelings associated with grabbing a little blue box (not that one) at your probably also defunct local shopping center.
